Sex and magic

Let’s begin by breaking down the idea of sex magic into its two core components, sex and magic. When we understand each independently, we can better master the power of their marriage. 

We’ll start with the obvious, and most familiar, sex. Curiously, your mind may have already limited this truly infinite idea. Many of us define sex as intercourse, where two bodies meet each other in sexual union. Sex is much more than this. Our sexual energy comprises the creative and generative energetic forces within us that keep us alive and produce life. We also may not realize that our inspiration and creativity have roots in our sexual energy. 

Going further, for our purposes here, we’ll define sex as any experience, solo or partnered, that awakens and amplifies this life force within us. This could certainly happen through paired lovemaking, yet it can also happen through self pleasuring, as well as non-physical energetic orgasms.

Magic on the other hand, extends beyond the realm of the physical. Magic happens in the unseen, the beyond. We might liken magic to miracles, profound experiences that come to us defying explanation. By definition magic cannot be explained, nor can it be guaranteed. 

When we have the sense that magic has occurred in our vicinity we often find ourselves left with a sense of wonder, awe, and the ineffable. We cannot “understand” magic with our mind. It requires us to let go of the outcome and almost always arises unexpectedly because it lives beyond our human control. Yet surely we know when we’ve had a magical experience. 

These magical experiences that we describe here have their roots in the spiritual realms. It is our connection to that indescribable presence that lives within, between, and beyond us that defines our spirituality. It requires no particular religion, or any religion at all. It simply exists for all of us, despite the fact that we cannot see it, nor define or capture it. Yet, again, surely it exists. 

When these forces and aspects of our humanity and divinity unite we create the space for sex magic to bless us. With that, we might just find ourselves moved in breathtaking delight and profound gratitude.

What is sex magic?

As we said above, your sexual energy is the most powerful creative generative force on the planet. Sex magic blends our sexual energy and our spiritual energy together, through our physical form, for the purposes of manifesting. When our peak pleasure, not necessarily orgasm, unites with our visions, dreams, and intentions they form a powerful magnetic force that has the capacity to draw to us the object of those visions and intentions.

We know from the Law of Attraction that it invites us to connect with the object of our desires, what we want to manifest, using our emotions and our senses. It invites us to feel the energy of the presence and experience of that which we want to manifest, before it comes to us. Feeling it, and feeling grateful for it, before it arrives as the Law says, also creates a powerful magnetic force. When we combine this felt sense of our desires with the power and force of our sexual pleasure we exponentially amplify that attractive force. We might just call sex magic the Law of Attraction on steroids.

Again, we can call on sex magic through any practice that cultivates the combination of our sexual, life, force, generative, and spiritual energies. The foundational spiritual tenets

Before we outline some of the specific ways to practice sex magic, we must first explore several important spiritual tenets that set the foundation of our ability to receive that which we desire to manifest.To become a master at sex magic and its manifesting power we must remember and embody the following: 

1. Trust. We must trust ourselves and the divine spiritual energy that lives beyond. We must believe in the possibility that our dreams may come to us. If we don’t trust the power, it can’t work on our behalf. 

2. Surrender. While we must trust that our prayers will be answered, that our intentions will take material form, we must also surrender our attachment to their arrival. If we must have them, if we are attached to them, if we try to control the timeline, that attachment will energetically prevent its arrival. We must honor the fact that we cannot control sex magic and its manifestations, and yet still remain open to the possibility. 

3. The Unknown. As we described, and by definition, magic occurs in the unknown. We cannot know its Source nor its timing. The deeper our capacity to rest in the unknown, the stronger our magnetic force. You are invited to make friends with that which you cannot see or control.

4. Pleasure. An integral part of sex magic, and even the Law of Attraction, our willingness to allow ourselves to experience deep pleasure determines our capacity to invoke sex magic well. We must know that we are both worthy and deserving enough to have that which we desire. If we don’t believe in our self worth, if we don’t feel as if we deserve, no matter how much sex magic we practice, we will rarely manifest the results we seek. How to practice sex magic

First and foremost, when it comes to how to practice sex magic, know that it can be practiced any time, any where, by anyone. There are no explicit or implicit requirements. However, some of the following supporting rituals can amplify your manifesting power. 

While sex magic doesn’t, by any means, have to happen in a sacred space, this kind of environment only supports your intentions and desires. You can set sacred space externally, physically, with lighting, music, candles, incense, sacred objects, and the like. You can set sacred space internally – to connect yourself directly with the Divine aspects of yourself – through breathwork, meditation, or even yoga. Having a conscious awareness of the Divine within and around you again only amplifies your sex magic intentions. 

Next, possibly as part of a meditation, or simply through a prayer or request of the universe, ask for what you desire before you begin your sex magic practice. As the Law of Attraction States feel the experience of your desire before it happens. Then, and this is the most important step, let go. Turn everything over to the Universe. Surrender any attachment and simply enjoy your experience.

Finally, let yourself revel in your deepest pleasure. Whether you explore physical intimacy with yourself or a partner, or you cultivate an energy orgasm, be sure to maintain deep connection to your breath as it acts as an incredible intensifying force. Breath moves energy and expands pleasure. 

Of course you’ll want to stay present to truly receive the pleasure in your body. At your peak pleasure or moment of orgasm, feel and envision the existence of your desire. And, please know that orgasm itself is not required for sex magic to work, nor do couples have orgasm together. Don’t work at it. Don’t get too serious. Simply enjoy.
